1 wire runs from the CU to the gas. From the gas it runs to under the kitchen cabinet and is not or ever has been connected to anything.

Gas is bonded. Water is not as this is the closest point.

This is a thick green and yellow wire that goes to cu.

I had an electriction rewire the house just before xmas. I have just discovered the earth wire, that is supposed to be attached to the water mains has not. The cable has just been thrown under the kitchen units. How dangerous is this and what should I do?

Forgive me, what do you mean? Do you mean place an earth rod next to the shed and connect the shed to it? Can I then use that as the earth for all the shed wiring??

Hmm. OK What is required in a full rewire? I am guessing splitting the ring mains into smaller curcuits and new consumer unit. I will get a spark to do this. As for the shed I am going to go though the process of notifing building control etc. I intend to run the cable to the shed and wire...
