    There should be a second part to the waterproof boot, with an 'O' ring, to form a watertight seal on the RJ45 connector. The UK uses the 568B configuration, but as long as you use the same either end it doesn't really matter.

    There are 8 cores in a cat5 cable, the primary colour conventionally goes first, so green/white signifies green primary, white secondary, basically the one with most green is green, the one with white, and a side of green, is white green.

    There is a big difference between a soundbomb/sounder and a speaker. Soundbombs and the such use 12vdc, derived from the sounder circuit, speakers are millivolts and are connected to speaker terminals. Put a sounder into a speaker connection and not much will happen, put a speaker into a sounder...

    Evening all, as any technician knows, we were once able to log into a Hikvision device, DVR, NVR, Camera, by just entering it's IP address into Internet Explorer and using the login credentials as required. Alas, this is no longer the case, attempting to log in directly is a nightmare. People...
