Evening all, as any technician knows, we were once able to log into a Hikvision device, DVR, NVR, Camera, by just entering it's IP address into Internet Explorer and using the login credentials as required. Alas, this is no longer the case, attempting to log in directly is a nightmare. People...

Go with a decent brand of switch, check cable size against load etc also.

It's not like the electricity meter bypass trick, you can't just tap into a fibre optic cable.

The unused zones will need to be programmed as not used, or the zone(s) physically shorted out in the panel.

Why do the installers 'lock' the system, it's the customers not theirs. Anyway enough about two bit electricians doing stuff that only security guys should do!....and usually getting it totally wrong. As Sparkymarka, there are documented ways to get around NVM locks, these involve shorting out...

I think it's press and release the tamper spring 3 or so times on power up to fully default the system IIRC.

TBH I very rarely post, since they stopped private messages it became very hard to offer personal advice out of the glare of the public eye, which a lot of people preferred. I can, enter the engineer code-it should display 'program zones', press 3, then yes, will take you into 'Global options'. Scroll to 'System config', press enter, type in 56, if you're on 'view open zones' press no, and it should change to no. Press menu a few times until the display asks if you...

This is probably being caused by this parameter, it can only be altered using the engineering menus.

Just wondered, as i had a system suffer a lightening/surge, took out one of two keypads, the panel, an expander, dualcom, and two of the pir's, the smartcom survived, followed normal procedures on the cloud to 'replace' panel, but still had connection issues, Texecom advised me to check IP...

Link=small piece of wire 'linking' the two terminals for zone 7. Put all wires back in any zones you taken out, put a 'link' in zone 7 terminals-the problem zone, and report back.
