Okay - when you say add a link wire between 1 and 3 on the room stat, I remove all the wires and put a wire link between screw number 1 on the left and screw 3?

Thanks lots. So just to confirm: All 4 wires out of ROOM STAT. Move white wire (third along) from PROGRAMMER, and put into where the yellow wire was in ROOM STAT (fourth wire down). Is that correct?

So: 1. Disconnect all the 4 wires on the room stat? 2. Unsure what you mean about adding a link between the terminals that the red and yellow were connected, though.
