What size screws do I need to secure a toilet to the floor?

Cheers. The parts of the screws I have that have shearede off are between 1" to 1 1/2" long so maybe 3" screws would do or should I use something a bit longer? Forgot to mention that the bathroom floor has laminate down so would I need a longer screw because of this?

What size screws do I need to secure a toilet to the floor?

Hi, the screws that secure my toilet to the floor have all corroded and sheared. The toilet was probably fitted in the late 70's/early 80's as it is in a former council house and the screws look like they go into the floor at a slight diagonal angle. What length of screw do I need to use to...

Need a recomendation for a replacemet cistern

I've noticed a crack appearing in my toilets cistern just below the flush handle running horizontally. The crack is about 100mm long and isn't leaking but there is also a smaller crack running up towards the flush handle. The cistern was orginally fitted by the council maybe 20-25 years ago...

Recomend a replacement for Dudley Turbo SSR toilet syphon

Cheers for the help. I've used a bit of plastic from a bag for life, it's not as thick as the proper diaphragm but the toilet now flushes first time so it should hold until I can either get a repalcememt diaphragm or find a thicker bit of plastic to use.

Recomend a replacement for Dudley Turbo SSR toilet syphon

Sorry, my mistake. mine is an 88R so getting a replacement part won't be an issue. Think I need to get my eyes checked. With regards to using a heavy duty polythene bag to make a replacement i'm guessing your on about something thicker than a bag for life from Asda?

    holes at edge of roof

I've noticed some damage to the edge of my roof. It's a terraced house that was built late 70's/early 80's and it looks like cement has been used to seal off the end of the roof. alot of this has came loose so i'm looking to get it replaced with a new plastic facia. any Idea on how much it...

Should I seal off my air bricks?

The house I live in was built in the 70's and has 2 air bricks in the kitchen wall. originally when the house was built it had a warm air heating system that was positioned at the opposite side end of the kitchen diagonally from the air bricks. About 10 years ago the council replaced the...

Problems with boiler - Vokera Maxin 28e

Hi, I currently have the above mentioned boiler fitted in my home. For the last 3 1/2 years every now and then it would trip out and I would have to press the reset button to get the heating/hot water working again. This hasn't been too much of a problem until recently where the boiler...

    Micro circuit breaker needed

never been anyting on the single N wire to indicate that it is live. I wired the fan up the same as the original fitting that was there. Anyway, back on topic, can anyone tell me where I can get a mcb to replace the re-wireable fuse that blows when the bulb goes pop?

    Micro circuit breaker needed

Yes, it is a Wylex unit. and it is a 5A re-wireable fuse. the fan is wired correctly, it's the house that's wired bad. 3 live, 3 earth and 3 neutral wires in 2 bedroom light fittings (haven't looked at any of the others) I used to have a fan in another room which when I fitted it I...

    Micro circuit breaker needed

Hi, I need to get hold of a micro circuit breaker to replace a fuse that keeps blowing in my consumer unit (due to dodgy council wiring making 9 wires going into a ceiling fan I fitted, you don't want to know how the thing is wired up, all i'll say is that it doesn't make sense to me). Its only...
