    Ederspächer Service

Oh yes! I forgot about 'boat use'. Yes mine is a Hydronic 'wet' system in a motorhome. They do use them in motor vehicles for engine pre-heating or additional / faster warm up etc. Anyway, if you do decide to do it I think the links I gave will be very useful: they were to me. Just...

    Ederspächer Service

It may be a bit late by now but there is a good video of servicing a Hydronic D4/5 here:-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJygf2hGOuI&feature=related He doesn't show removing or stripping the coolant pump though ( some don't have an internal pump, ie. those fitted to Mercedes Sprinters )...

Check Valve or 'Double' check valve?

I need to install a check valve ( for a water softener installation). Screwfix list Check Valve and Double Check Valve and the local stores seem only to stock 'Double Check Valve'. The 'Doubles' have a small screw in the side of them: Does the 'Double' simply have two valves in it instead...

    Floor Screed Repair advice please.

I have some fairly small damaged / cracked areas on my concrete floor. I just want to knock out the loose and fill. I think that a sharp sand / cement mix will be ok but would like comments from you guys. I am not sure what mix ratio I should use. I am laying self adhesive vinyl floor...

    Dishwasher all noise no action

You may have it sorted by now, but those 'switches' normally move through 90 degrees and are 'off' when at right angles to the pipe I believe ( your description of 'horizontal' and 'vertical' would depend on the orientation of the pipe ). hth Harvey

RESOLVED - Hotpoint FDW60G dishwasher filter fault

Well, Hotpoint have taken four months to *not* repair my machine, so I hope you have better luck than me. I am sure that, as long as you have installed the machine according to instructions, you have a genuine fault. I had exactly the same error code giving a 'blocked filter' failure...

    Hotpoint Dishwasher BFI 620

I can't give specific help but I am sure that those two lights flashing are an 'error code' which a Hotpoint tech. will have the information for. If they were 'user info.' codes I guess they would be in the user manual. In my experience error codes may be on for, for example: Water...

    Amptec Central Heating Boiler

I found this forum where they are discussing Powergen Eco.10 http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=135700&page=1 Have a look at post #17 by Chris89. It looks to me as though economy 10 with three charge rates is for when Storage Heaters are used. Not sure on that...

    Amptec Central Heating Boiler

    Amptec Central Heating Boiler

I am sure there will be some experts to help when they get back from the pub but meanwhile, my inlaw's meter (Amptec boiler and meter installed by South East Electricity) on economy 10 has only two Rates. HTH Harvey

    push fit or not

I'm not an expert or professional but I bought some recently to use for 'cut and shutting' 15mm central heating pipes, I didn't want to use solder joints because of the very close proximity to skirtings and carpet. I did some trial assembly of the (copper) push fits before using in ernest. I...

    Gate Valve / Stopcock

My question is:- What is the point of 'Gate Valves'? In my experience they never shut off the water completely, unlike stopcocks or isolating valves, so what is the point of them? Thanks, Harvey

    TRV recommendations...

Just before you do that, and to keep this thread running a bit longer :) ; I had Drayton TRVs for years: they were TRV2; I had sensor heads fail, valves jam, seals split. I replaced a couple with TRV4s some years ago and they have been fine. However they now cost around 20 squid each so when...

    Amptec Central Heating Boiler

My in-laws had an Amptec boiler installed to replace their coal fired boiler. I think it was the 11kw ( largest available ) although they can be doubled up if greater output is required. It is connected so that it runs both central heating and hot water. The timer can be set for either, or...
