Domestic oil tank leak (with pics)

Hi folks, As per the title I have a plastic oil tank that appears to be leaking from the output pipe seal. The black seal which i'm hoping can be seen in the pic is deteriorating. I'm pretty handy with all things mechanical so I was wondering whether this was a job I could attempt myself ? Or...

    12v accessory alarm wiring help

Hi folks, I have purchased (whilst under the influence of stupidity) a cheap accessory alarm for my 20 year old 4x4 truck. As I dreaded the instructions are mainly in Chinglish :( Although I've managed to make sense of most of it with one main exception. The relay . I have attached two pics...

Wall removed , levelling two meeting floors.

\\whoops. I have just read this excellent sticky. //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=77960 What depth can the self levelling compound go too with the added sharp sand ? I haven't got the laser on it yet but I suspect its 2-3 inches lower in the 'low' corners.

Wall removed , levelling two meeting floors.

Hi Folks, I've had a wall between two rooms removed in my 120 year old slate/stone cottage and the floors either side aren't quite level with each other. Added to this the floors in what were the two previous rooms and both sag towards one corner due to some subsidence many years ago (approx...

The water board have seen it previously (months ago) and said it was galv. I really dont think they are correct. But as I am not sure of galv characteristics it's a bit difficult for me to say

    Grill only trips power out

The circuit earth has been disconnected from the cooker only and replaced with the earth from the earthing rod. No idea about the rod suggestion, in fairness it could even have been from another forum, it's that long ago I can't remember :?

I was wondering if that might be the case. Hey ho, by this time next year I could probably afford a spark to look at it  Grilling food is far too healthy anyway  Thanks Rebuke and John , I appreciate the assistance

    Grill only trips power out

Hmmm, bit gutted. Started by turning off and unplugging individually, but then in the end I pulled every plug socket in the whole house and shutdown the central heating and turned off the shower isolator and turned every light switch off, but it still trips out :( Would fitting an upgraded...

    Grill only trips power out

Apologies, you are quite correct, it is 0.03A. I haven't looked through all my posts, but it was certainly over a year ago. Will do. Does leakage with outside lights only occur when the light is switched on ? Thanks again chaps

    Grill only trips power out

Excuse my ignorance, but would that be the issue with the cooker having it's own dedicated earth via the earth rod ? The rod (via earth cable obviously) is connected to the oven only.

    Grill only trips power out

Hi , Every time I put the grill on (integral grill in cooker) the main CU RCD trips. Initially I assumed it was just the naff cooker, so replaced it with another which does exactly the same. All four rings are fine as is the oven, but the grill trips out the RCD. I did post about this a...
