    cooker socket

I got a 3 year workmanship, electrical and gas guarantee and the installer signed next to this: I confirm that I have completed the electrical installation at the above address in accordance with drawing No. # which confirms to current IEE regulations. I did find this thread at the IET...

    cooker socket

Thanks! Looks like my Monday morning will be interesting to say the least. I'm not sure about the ratings of the appliances, I'll look into it. You would hope that a large company such as them would make sure this doesn't happen.

Want to tile my kitchen floor - currently vinyl on hardboard

The kitchen is already fitted - one thing they did do though was make it so I could raise e plinths at the bottom of the cabinets so I didn't have to tile up to them to make it neater, also means I have 20mm+ to play with there. Such a small kitchen causing so many problems, it's only 1.5 x 2.5m!

Want to tile my kitchen floor - currently vinyl on hardboard

Wooden floorboards under the vinyl. They are a little uneven so I'm assuming that's why the hardboard was put down.

Want to tile my kitchen floor - currently vinyl on hardboard

As the title says, the floor is currently vinyl tiles which were put on top of hardboard. Is it ok just to tile over those with ceramic tiles or should I pull up the vinyl ones? It's only about 2.5m squared if that makes a difference. Thanks

I'd like to put an immersion timer switch in my kitchen...

Are there any other digital timers I could use in the kitchen then? What rating should they be?

    cooker socket

Kind of related: I just got a new kitchen from Ikea and they also installed it - well a sub contractor did. I tried to keep out of their way most of the time but noticed they changed my old cooker switch (massive red switch on it) to what looked like a normal 2 gang socket. They then...

Cheers dude, I appreciate it. That timer is ugly though! But at least I know what to look for, thanks again.

I'd like to put an immersion timer switch in my kitchen...

Yeah, that's what I was asking - I wanted to check if it was possible (which it is :)) and if so, what kind of timer do I need? The timer in the cupboard wouldn't be suitable for the kitchen, I need one which will fit a standard socket, I'm not sure what I can use though.

I'd like to put an immersion timer switch in my kitchen...

Well it's like this: immersion heater | v timer in the cupboard | v switch in the cupboard | v switch in the kitchen

I'd like to put an immersion timer switch in my kitchen...

Well I won't be changing it all too often, it's just a right pain to get to where it is at the moment. I wanted a new digital switch ideally. The timer in the cupboard at the moment heats the water up in the morning etc, I just wanted to move it so if it needs changing I don't have to move...

I do want it in the kitchen for ease of use. I'm not sure what kind of switch to get though...

I'd like to put an immersion timer switch in my kitchen...

I have a regular immersion switch in my kitchen at the moment (standard switch with a neon light) but as I've just had a new kitchen fitted thought I could do something about it before the new tiles go up. In the boiler cupboard at the moment I have a mechanical timer fitted: It's no...
