    Low level WC pan replacement.

Oh Dear I don't think I can ever live down this cockup. As the old saying goes there is nothing worst than fear itself. How is it possible for a 110mm soil pipe transform into a 90mm diameter grey one? By not taking into account of perspective! It's unfortunate that the numbers just match up to...

    Low level WC pan replacement.

Thank you for all your replies. They have all been very helpful. Yes the fittings are plastic and the house was built around 1980s. I think I will try out Daniel suggestion. At this point I cannot think of a safer way of finding out what is happening without causing too much damage.

    Low level WC pan replacement.

What could possibly goes wrong? Just before I cut into the 110mm soil pipe jutting out of the wall I thought I will check with my torch the inner diameter of the soil pipe, which goes 40mm behind the wall before it does a 90 degree right turn. It was only 90mm! I detect a joint where it does...

    Low level WC pan replacement.

Thank you for your replies. Madrab is right. The connector is solvent welded on to a piece of soil pipe right in the middle. I can see the glue on close examination. Will be off to the shops to see what is available now that I know what is involved.

    Low level WC pan replacement.

I need to replace my low level WC pan but not sure what connectors are needed. My Standard ideal low level toilet has given me 20+ years of faultless service but the pan sprang a leak at the exit (toilet spigot to pan connector) when I flush the toilet. Please look at the photos I have...

    New washing machine base

I've decided to remove the polystyrene foam. Had a look underneath and notice that the motor is resting on it. I would not want it to over heat.

Connecting two ceiling rose to the same light switch?

I have checked the connection visually but would not know how to check it with a volt meter. Getting a lift to the shops to day so i may buy the lights and decide what to do afterward.

Connecting two ceiling rose to the same light switch?

My kitchen has two ceiling rose but one of them does not work. No electric current is reaching it. I do not know why but the previous owner said it has never worked. Currently I just have one strip of fluorescent light. I am thinking of replacing the tube and using ordinary lights but this...

    New washing machine base

It's on a solid ground floor. On lino tiles, some of which are loose so I have put a carpet over it. Not very even. The stylofoam base seems to be quite strong and make it easier for me to move the machine around.

    New washing machine base

Just installed my new washing machine. Are there any merits or disadvantage to leave it sitting on the polystyrene base that comes with the machine as packaging rather than on bare floor? I have heard some machines makes a lot of noise and vibration. Would it reduce this as well as wear and tear...

Screws and plugs for TV bracket

I have to put up a metal TV and video bracket onto a brick wall in the kitchen. The bracket is quite heavy even before the 14" TV is on it. The instruction suggests using at least 4 screws to hold the bracket but does not say what size to use. Any advise on mounting this heavy object such as...
