Advice needed in type of glue/epoxy

We moved jnto a house a couple of years ago and the back of the house has two sets of bifold doors which lock via a central bolt running up the middle of the door operated by a handle inside. At the top of the door where the bolt comes there is a plastic guide which keeps the bolt in place and...

Miele WT946washer dryer - dryer has stopped working, advice?

we are refitting our kitchen at the moment and have to decide whether to retain our Miele WT946 washer dryer or get a new washer completely. We already decided to get a separate dryer in the new kitchen, so we could keep the existing model as a washer only, or as a backup. So here is the...

Fan Oven has started tripping the circuit breaker

I see. So is there an easy check I should do to diagnose the problem, or is it something I should just call in a pro for and let them sort it out?

Fan Oven has started tripping the circuit breaker

I moved into this current house about 3 years ago and had no problems with wiring etc. the kitchen has a built in AEG oven/fan oven. About a month ago the fan oven was on and the dinner was cooking, when all of a sudden the main circuit breaker on the fuse box (as I still call it) tripped...

Anyone know where I can get a single bracket for a towel rad

I just found this old post and realised I never closed it out - and the response might help someone else. In the end I found a model of radiator that was very similar to the one in my bathroom, at the local Homebase. They gave me the contact details for the manufacturer, who happened to be...

    Miele Washer Dryer won'd drain

I have a Miele Washer Dryer model WT 946 about 4-5 years old. Today it has developed a fault in that it will not drain. The "Water Inlet/Drain" indicator light flashes and the machine just gives up. I've tried draining in manually a couple of times and cleaning out the fluff filter as...

Just a DIYer - have undertaken various lightweight jobs around various houses, bit of plumbing, bit of plastering, tiling, woodwork etc. By no means a natural "with my hands" typically jobs take twice as long as they should and cause 3 times as much mess! But usually get things sorted ok -...

Problem with the drain/outflow from Miele Washer dryer

Ok, just tried it again with the outlet hose less far into the pipe - same result, the water starts bubbling over as soon as the machine starts pumping out. Not massively mind, just a few spurts. Tried with the pipe just in the top (1/2 inch) and same result! I'm stumped. :?

Problem with the drain/outflow from Miele Washer dryer

I have a Miele WT 946 Washer/dryer . About 2 months ago, it started leaking waste water. Pulled out the machine and disconnected trap and pipework and flushed them out (they were clogged up) and it all seemed to go back to working fine, until yesterday when the problem recurred. When it empties...

Anyone know where I can get a single bracket for a towel rad

I tried B&Q among others on Saturday, but was told they didn't do spares, I'd have to contact the manufacturer of my radiator - which of course I don't know!! The closest match I could find was a model in Homebase called the "St Moritz", but again I was told they don't do spares.

Anyone know where I can get a single bracket for a towel rad

I moved house about 6 months ago. In the bathroom there is a ladder style towel radiator, which runs off the central heating and is held to the wall by 3 brackets. The brackets have a body that is fixed to the wall, and then a clasp shaped bit that fits around one of the pipes (like a C shape)...

    Intermittent Hot Water

I let this lie for a while as I got distracted with something else. Further info - when you turn on the tap, the outside vent starts spewing out steam - easily visible in the current cold weather. You can see from the steam being let out that the boiler heats away nicely, then suddenly just...

    Intermittent Hot Water

This is probably an easy one to answer, and I will need to get a plumber to come fix the problem anyway but I just wanted to get an idea of the potential problem. I have a Vokera combi boiler. We have no issues with the heating at all, which works fine. But the hot water through the taps is...
