we had a boiler fitted by b.g. recently. found we could have sourced the boiler ourselves for literally half the price! the service agreement is a sweetner. the basic one is fine,have your boiler serviced etc,etc. the one they are offering as a sop to disguise the astronomical prices they charge...

we are buying a 1930s house and plan to rip all the laminate out.! i have seen laminated stairs though with a sort of rubber and metal strip along the edge where the treads and risers meet. wont it make your stairs a bit slippy in your stocking feet if you laminate them.?

thanks nige,due to the circs. i am no doubt a bit paranoid! we will be using a corgi fitter,as the boiler needs to go anyway as its about 15 years old and the bloke who owns our prospective house has,on his own admission ,never had it serviced.

thanks for assorted advice.dont need to send off sample as we KNOW it is asbestos and people do die of it. as it is we have found a company who will come and remove and dispose of it safely,which is a weight off.

try using bicarbonate of soda,damp on a non scratch scourer,use an old tooth brush for the fiddly bits. warm oven up,then wipe off.clean oven,no toxic fumes!
