Hi, I have recently moved house and in my new dining room it has 3 ceiling spot lights randomly spaced.
Once turned on they're fine but after about 5 minutes they go out?. I flick the switch and nothing happens....they then will come back on after maybe 5 minutes but this process is repeated...
depends on so many things but I'd allow half a day.
If this is in a house then the planing would usually be done outside so as not to create too much mess inside and then have to carry the door back in to offer it into the opening....there will usually be very little room to manouvre due to...
Not convinced it's timber, looks like an oak laminate to me, maybe wrong, looks like it's been laid on 2 x 1" par too, ok it may have been treated but i doubt it. Should have used lathe if it had to be 1".
I still say that board should have been laid direct to the deck rather than on timbers...
they aren't floor boards though are they? that's laminate isn't it? some of that stuff is only around 10mm thick, maybe less, not to be fitted on batons like that, it's bound to bend inbetween.
as said, i'd pull it up and start again
yeah, tomorrow, I'll get one from a lad at work,
I'm pretty tempted to wire it as per the other light and flick the switch...what's the implications if it's wrong?, considering that for the past 24 hours it's had a neutral going to the live anyway?
that's the thing mate, they're both white, apart from the earth, the other light was marked L and N with a sticker but this has probably fallen off, shall i just wire it and see?
right mate, just found the reds, they were buried in a lump of paster board adhesive.
they are in a little chock block, so now i have two red, black and earths, i just connect those to my live, neutral and earths on my light, yeah?
well, i haven't added any wiring. I took the old lights off, the wires came from the wall into a connecter block, so i taped that up, then, when my new lights arrived i remove the block and put the wires into the connector block on my new lights
I have removed one bulb and now nothing...
Hi, I put my nrw wall lights up yesterday which are controlled via a new 3 gang dimmer switch which i fitted the replace on old broken one.
They have the same bulbs as the ceiling light but even with the dimmer turned up full they are pretty dull. The ceiling light is about twice as bright...
go for the makita. I've had 2 ryobi 18v for over a year, in that time one has packed up completely, one has been sent back to be fixed and returned with forward/reverse the wrong way round....having said that, I am using these for my job so are getting a battering all day everyday, batteries...
Hi, maybe a daft question, are there different strengths of this? tackiness i mean?
Doing my living room atm and each time i remove the tape from my walls it's pulling paint with it. It does seem extremely sticky.
So are there weaker strengths?
Cheers
Just would like to thank davex, breezer and securespark for their help...all sorted and works a treat. More importantly there were no fatalities
Great site this and I've a feeling I'll be on here quite often
