Well I would of hoped MK would of diagnosed a faulty PCB if that was the issue because they are Boilermate experts, they did not so I trust their opinion. Both pumps are running fine.

Wrong. I paid MK £65. They told me the Gledhill Boilermate II is fine and it was the fan in the Potteron Suprima but they don't repair boilers. Fan changed by local plumber and no difference as far as I can tell. I also never said I was ripped off, you wrote that. All I have said is a part...

Paul, I'm not having a go at my plumber, I think his work is fine. I suppose I'm having a go a my own judgement. Just frustrating that I've spent £300 and yes I have a new fan and the Gledhill has been checked but its just still so noisy!

Its option to take the lot out as the boiler is pushing 12 years old, so perhaps its time. If so what do you guys suggest. Its a 4 bed detached house 13 rads and a Boilermate 2 and I'd like to be a quiet as possible as our room is above the boiler!

Once again thank you for the detailed replies. I've checked ans there are only two wires into the downstairs sockets mcb. Both the sockets mcb are also clustered next to an RCD. As the new socket is coming directly from the fusebox is there a certain cable type I should use?
