The pump is a Myson Compact Circulating Pump CP53 and its about the only thing in the house that gets hot at the minute! I cant see any vents (not that I'd know what I was looking for anyway) I had the system off for a few weeks while I decorated the bathroom and fitted a new rad in there...

I've tried unscrewing the screw at the front of the pump but it won't come out completely so I can get a screw driver inside, I did put the screwdriver in as much as I could and then put my ear to it and it was kinda vibrating... I'm not sure that thats enough to show its working though...

Does the boiler have to be lit in order for the pump to come on? I have opened the screw at the front of the pump and it does seem to be spinning freely when I turn the screw back and forth. I'll give it a go now to see if its running. Cheers

Thanks for your help Everything appears to be working ok now, I turned the thermostat down on the boiler and that seems tto have stopped it from cutting out. Thanks again

The pump pipes do get hot quite quickly, I've checked the pump and it seems to be spinning freely. I've not long moved into the house and the system seems to be quite old so wouldn't imagine anything had been wired up wrong. Should I close all the thermostats bar one and then try to run...
