    Broken bath drainer

    Hi The black plastic tube is connects the overflow to the waste. best bet is to take the panel off and hold the tube in place whilst screwing. Is an easy job not worth spending money to get sorted. Good luck :P

    No need for PTFE on a compression fitting. If it is speedfit that you are dealing with and their instructions say 2 turns, then 2 turns it is. Hope this is useful to you

    wonderb0y, You need to be corgi registered to do any gas work for pay. If you are doing it for yourself or as a favour then you must be competant but don't have to prove it (until you blow something up)! So best not to touch anything if you're not 100% sure.

    with regards to the gas supply. it doesn't matter what is on the boiler, every situation is different depending on the length of the run from the meter, the restrictions (ie bends) the rating of the boiler and any other appliances that may be on that run. If you're not sure, get someone to check...

    shower mixer

    I have recently installed a thermostatic mixer shower. The supplies are both high pressure. The shower will not warm up, if i isoltate the cold water, then it runs hot at the same temp as coming from the boiler but as soon as the cold is open it is barely warm even when on the hottest setting...
