When i turn on my elecrtic oven, or gas hob, there is a very slight gassy smell, almost a little like paraffin or camping gas. It seems to go away after a while, but as I can't tell what exactly it is it's a bit worrying. Does anyone know what it could be?

My bathroom extractor fan makes a lot of noise, mainly a high pitched wailing screaming type of sound. I've taken the front off, and there's a lot of paper jammed into it, maybe the previous tenants trying to drown out the noise or maybe this is what is causing the noise? There appeared to be a...
