    Still not working properly. It seems that on hot water only I am getting a lot of pipe banging and poor performance of the system. The central heating seems OK. Aay ideas before I call in a professional.

    Bob - should the system be running or off? before I poke the pin in? Is there a little air gallery that blocks up over time? Should I let a little escape before replacing the cap? Thanks

    I did as craig suggested but didnt get any air or water out of the valve? When on heating and water the system is quiet, but with heating only it still knocks a lot! I have had the immersion on but the mrs claims there is not much hot water. gas4you - the little cap seems to screw right...

    Hi guys, gas4you - i am getting water out of the rads. clf-gas - what does the by-pass do? I have it open at the moment With central heating only (no HW) the system seems to work OK.

    Is there any other way of expelling air from the hot water system. By bleeding radiators I dont seem to be getting any air escaping but I'm sure the hot water system has a lot of air in it. I assume that bleeeding teh radiators only affects the heating - not the hot water?
