Can anybody advise me on the regs etc. for extractor fans? when do I need to use an fcu and when can I use a fan isloator switch instead? I'm putting a fan in the wc, one in a shower room and one in the bathroom. Are there differences for the different rooms? ta.

yes, the switch wire does look older. Does that mean I'm earthed or not then?

Can Anyone explain why my lights all have an earth leaving the ceiling rose but there is no earth into my switches. Does it mean my light circuit isn't earthed or is there a simple reason that the earth isn't required down to the switch?? thanks in anticipation

Hi, I need to know if I need to re site my extractor fan in a shower room. It is above the shower cubical at the moment and I'm replacing the shower, toilet, sink. The new shower will be in the same position so am I obliged by regulations to alter where the fan is? any info gratefully received
