potterton performa 28i - HW Problem

My apologies Ian, I looked at 12.22 in the manual on the left of the page and thought it was the diverter valve, when reading again it is the DHW sensor. Just seen the diverter valve and motor in next section. Sorry for my mistake. Neil

potterton performa 28i - HW Problem

Think this is old school diverter with diaphragm Ian. Don't think there is a motor on it. There is a micro switch at the end of the diverter and the pin pushes out from the diverter and closes the switch. By the sounds of it I would expect either the diaphragm to be split or the internals...

    Baxi Solo 3 Issue

Did you try what Ian said when there was a demand for heat? They do sometimes free and start spinning again.

    Baxi Solo 3 Issue

There is an isolator valve either side of the pump. Turn them off undo the connections pump side, slide old pump out. If you get same pump should just slide in new washers and tighten. Turn both valves back on check for leaks, jobs a good un.:D

    Baxi Solo 3 Issue

Are you sure the pump is actually pumping? Sounds as if the pump is not getting heat away from the heat exchanger quickly enough. Have you tried making sure the flow pipe from the boiler heats up along its path away from the boiler when you put on demand for heat from cold?

Gas Hob above the incoming meter? Regs Question

Yes would say this is fine to gas regs. Only thing I would mention, I remember there being a safety bulletin a while ago regarding the 'relaxing' of meter washers after tightening meter connections resulting in the meter leaking slightly. If the meter was in a box external of the building then...

No hot water, buderus 500 28c

Hi Manish, Is the flow rate on the hot water ok? Does the burner actually light when opening a hot tap? What happens if you leave the tap running once water has gone luke warm, does burner come on again if it is lighting?

    Worcester 24CDi leaking

Not sure whether you are indicating one of the pipes leaking or the big red expansion vessel. Did you re-pressure when cold to 1 bar? Also are you sure that you turned the filling loop off fully? If the pressure was 1 bar when cold and no chance of filling loop adding more pressure then it...

No hot water, buderus 500 28c

If the boiler doesn't react when you turn the hot tap on then I would start with the flow sensor. Judging by the shoddy work you have had done on it and the leaks created it's a wonder the CH works. I assume that when you say you changed the turbine you mean the flow turbine. If so you need to...

No hot water, buderus 500 28c

When you turn a hot tap on does the boiler do anything at all? Does boiler work ok for heating?

    Vaillant Ecomax Leak

Might be worth contacting Vaillant for a fixed price repair if you feel you have tried all applicable fuses and you think it is the PCB. If the expansion vessel has split you can have a generic one fitted outside the boiler and the existing one's connection capped which wouldn't be that...

    Boiler kicking in to soon

I think you need to make sure whether it is the room stat that is sending a call for heat signal to the boiler and the boiler is correct in responding or the boiler is firing randomly which is another thing entirely.

    contracting opportunities with British Gas

Thanks for replies so far, which seem to repeat my own thoughts on the matter. If you could pick your own days to work and move them around from week to week that would be great for me, I could do a couple of days when I am slack and so on. Probably though they would want you to commit to so...

    contracting opportunities with British Gas

Hi All, Just recieved an invitation to apply to contract for BG. Apparently you can choose how many days you work, they provide a laptop, uniform, FGA, support and training. They give you servicing/repair work via the laptop and pay the 'going rate' for the job, only they dont say how much that...

    corgi pre-registration assessment

Thanks Dave but I wasnt worried about them visiting the sites, more whether they would check their own database to see if the appliances where registered with them on their notification scheme. Jeff

    corgi pre-registration assessment

I wonder if anyone has just had their pre-registration assessment for corgi registration. I have just applied for one and wondered if the assessor will check the installations in my portfolio against the corgi database to see if the appliances are registered with them. I do not want to drop the...
