    Precisely as you say PP...the switch on the valve with the hot pipe is resistant, the switch on the other valve - attached to the cool pipe - is moving without resistance. Does this mean that the freely moving valve is defective and would it require replacement of the entire valve?

    Can anyone help with the following problem... I have a gas CH system fired from a back-boiler regulated by a single room thermostat. The HW and CH operate quite normally by the programmer but when the system powers down the radiators downstairs will cool as normal but the upstairs radiators...

    Central heating but no HW on Potterton EP2001

    My central heating comes on fine on the timer but the hot water just refuses to fire up. the HW indicator light on the programmer is illuminated but no HW. Any ideas before I buy another programmer?
