    Went onto glowworm website and couldnt find any price info so the wife contacted an heating engineer who also teaches corgi at the college where she works thinking we would get a proper job done at a descent price. Lesson learnt.

    Replaced pcb and thermistor at a cost of £235 fitted, could not find any signs of water ingress, next time will buy of ebay and fit myself, engineer was here all of 20 mins. New board looks completely different with more relays and resistors hopefully now sorted and will last longer.

    Had the front off and fuse is ok and theres power to boiler, looked at pcb and it shows signs of corrosion. Dangermouse: the part number you have stated differs from the part number on the board is it an updated pcb, 2000227134. Seen a few pcb boards on ebay quite cheap should i risk it.

    Yip i know you can light with a match so do the hairs on the back off my hand :lol: , managed to temporary repair the piezo switch with superglue and solder. thanks

    Not had the front off yet, are there fuses inside as the only other one is in the main isolation switch which also gives power to ther control/settings switch which is fine. £215 :cry: dont think the boiler cost that. On another note, the boiler was an insurance replacement fitted around...

    Hi again, typical boiler packed in (see other thread) now i need the fire which hasnt been lit for 12 months and the PIEZO IGNITOR has failed to work so need to replace this fast, any ideas where i may purchase one from quick, i'm in the bolton/manchester area. Fire is the valor flameco. thanks

    No further on and still looking for the advise, going of the type of cu i now have (photo) what type and size do i now need and how many mcb's/rcd are needed. OR Could i use one of these to cut down on cost and replace the cu later...

    wouldn't attempt to do this myself although i could install the run of shower cable back to the cu so that i can get on with the bathroom, was asking for advise so i don't get ripped of and know in advance of what is needed. Ignorance is not always bliss. Thanks to all.

    Yes 30 amp rewirable. No insulation but will be channeled in then plastered and tiled over in the shower section.

    Hi, i'm currently in the process of removing and installing a new bathroom suit plus shower. the old shower is a mira essential not sure of kw and is supplied from the old style consumer unit with 30amp fuse, i think the cable is 6mm, the new shower is 8.5kw, assuming that the old cable is 6mm...
