    Unite The Kingdom

You're not wrong. I was born in a country that speaks a different language and was brought across the border without a passport. My new country have treated me quite well and I have been given hospital and dental treatment. Some people have jeered me about my origins, but I have learned to...

    Sympathetic Or Not?

I've worked in many areas all over the country. Cumbria, North Yorkshire, South, East and North Manchester, Tameside, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield, Pontefract, Scunthorpe, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Mansfield, Burton, Buxton, Ashbourne, Stoke, Birmingham, North and...

    Sympathetic Or Not?

Sigh. What about it? What about all the families who have multiple cars, regardless of their colour (the families, not the cars).

But it is current, if you'll forgive the pun. We've just ordered our second.

    Hunt for a Van

The things I spotted are the wheels are non standard and look too big for the arches, the suspension could have been messed with and the gearshift and steering wheel look very shiny for the mileage. And yes, the DSG can be a nightmare to fix.

    Sympathetic Or Not?

That applies to families in general these days. Kids have cars that wouldn't have done in previous eras. As for size, (for example) my son's i30 estate isn't much shorter than a Merc 4x4.

    Thanks for looking, appreciate that.

    Flymo Lead

Yes, I got one like that and sent it back today because it is the same as what is on the lead.

    Sympathetic Or Not?

Only you could bring that into a topic about something far removed from it.

    Flymo Lead

I have a Mountfield Princess with a lead that goes direct into the machine. It has failed where the copper has broken inside the flex. You know the score, you waggle the flex in a certain position and the mower fires up. This plus damage to the flex in several places means I have got a new...

    Sympathetic Or Not?

I know a lot of people who have made off-road parking spaces without applying to the council for a dropped kerb. Two of these have placed blocks to make it easier to get up the kerb. Many of these are on a cul-de-sac where street parking is really limited and for that reason, the council limits...

    Metal Back Box Clips

Like I said, my OCD must be getting worse, because I don't want the "wafer thin" flanges any more. We've spent a load of money having the area skimmed in preparation for decorating, so I will make a call to either glue in battens with "Sticks Like Sh*t" and screw the boxes to those, or I will...

Short bit of ceiling wire chasing

OK, so there's no access from above. Easier surely to swap the fitting for one that accepts a cable direct into the fitting so that it is completely hidden.

Short bit of ceiling wire chasing

Isn't it far easier to ditch the existing fitting and get one that will fit over the existing cable? Job done, no farting about? Yes, you spend money on materials, but there's no messing about fishing, pulling up carpets, floorboards etc...

What ****ty pro-oil industry papers have you been reading? Take a proper look at the genuine stats. Hybrids are far more likely to go up in smoke than EVs.

Have you also seen the YT videos on at least two high mileage MGs? One was a taxi with 300 odd thousand on the clock. We are soon to return our MG4 which is on a 3 year lease, and has done in excess of 30,000 fault-free miles. Leapmotor and MG both have an 8 year/ 100,000 mile battery...
