Porch, advice on way to go.

So, have been mulling this over for some time, I have a recessed front door, open on two sides, 2150(h)*950(w) for the side and 2150*1450 for the front where the door would go. I've had a look online but can't really find any very similar, most seem to be the large 'beams' As you can guess from...

    BG 330+ v slow heating F22 error

its not got a feed, but cistern, and cylinder. Just been quoted £240 for a strip and clean of the heat exchanger (after £170 for the checks above). I'd note last year I had a service which included a clean of the heat exchanger for £96

    BG 330+ v slow heating F22 error

Hi Just looking for some 'second opinion' or knowledge, as had someone round who failed to resolve the issue and is not clear on the cause. So I have a BG 330+, it was serviced last October (including a flush of the heat exchanger). Wednseday morning noticed a lack of hot water the other...

    Bathroom fitting…when to comment?!

So bit of an update, called him round the other day to discuss, says the tiles were far too different to match up, and he used spacers, having popped him after he had gone one of the nights he was doing it, he seemed to have some of the small white crossed, and others that looked more like bits...

Thanks yeh, the grout lines don’t match already, any wonder one side gets gradually higher than the other?!

    Bathroom fitting…when to comment?!

I ordered the items (which having seen the room and the room plan, I shared the order with him) , and explained the layout, but he ultimately decided things like the overhang and the gap between units. I was at work, but my partner was at home and he didn’t discuss with her. The impression, is...

    Bathroom fitting…when to comment?!

There may be a small difference, but tiles are from the same manufacturer (same range) with the same dimensions on the box (so there may be some tolerance difference) To be fair he was was recommended by several people in my village. On FB!

    Bathroom fitting…when to comment?!

So he has apparently finished, and a number of things I expected him to sort appear to have been left…. Really not sure inviting him back to resolve is the best solution now. *top of tiling on wall above the bath. Big gap… left open… needs filling as a minimum, but surely he should have adjust...

    Bathroom fitting…when to comment?!

Hi, just getting a bathroom fitted and apparently the guy will finish tomorrow, but had a quick look round and a few issues making me a little concerned. And don’t want to jump to conclusions as I know many things are sorted when they get tweaked at the end, but: *there is a cut in one of the...

    Home Office over Detached Garage

Today its in full use, was lucky to get some low height drawers and cupboards which work well with the knee boards and an oil filled radiator. Used it once a week and then lockdown hit, so it was in full time, been very impressed with it, even the other year when it was -10c the temperature...

    Home Office over Detached Garage

Now the fun started with the plastering. Having never done this before it was a steep (and messy) learning curve. It was all butt joints, and no tapered boards! Then there was a lot of debate over the stairs and how to fit a door. Ended up using this neat door arrangement with a pneumatic piston...

    Home Office over Detached Garage

Next up came the insultation, I used 100m Celotex, with 130mm rafters this allowed 30mm airflow under the tiles, think modern standards are a little thicker, but when the rest of the house was built 100mm was the regs! The end walls simply had rockwool. Next up was the plasterboard, the sides...

    Home Office over Detached Garage

Realised I'd not posted a thread on this. Completed it back in 2018, thinking I would use occasionally, but was a god send during the working from home in the pandemic, and still very pleased with it. Cost was under £1k IIRC. Essentially I moved into a house with a detached double garage, with...
