    Connecting house to Detached garage

We think the utility was part of the original building. Its shown on this 1911 map. However we believe the Garage may have been extended to the rear around 1982. But can't find planning application anymore. There is plenty on room around the other side for Fire hose access. (I seem to remember...

    Glow worm ultracom 30Cxi pump

Hiya Folks I had my pump replaced by a fly by night plumber who used the original seal/o-ring. This leaks. Not massively but it needs topping up once a week or so. Pressure drops from 1 bar to 0.5bar so needs 5-6 secs of refilling. We are selling the house and the buyer wants the GCH...

Re fixing Indian stone stepping stones

Hi I've had a couple of stepping stones (read flags) come loose. This has happened before on a couple of others which I used green gripfill to resecure as a temp measure. A temp measure that is still going strong 4 yrs later. However I've had a couple more come loose and was looking...

    Joiner Cockup..Need shallow Downlights

Cheers guys. Can anyone clarify whether or not Fire rated downlights are actually needed. The lights are needed in the Kitchen. Above the kitchen is only a bathroom I have attached a pic of a floorplan that is very similar. 2 sparkies have told me I don't need them but they do...

    Self Employed-Employed.

Not complicated at all just work for the new people, and when you fill in your SE next year there is a part that asks for earnings from other employment (words to that effect) HMRC will know how much tax/NI you've already paid. You may even pay less tax depending on whatever allowable...

    Joiner Cockup..Need shallow Downlights

Cheers folks. Joiner cockup as in he was told to leave at least 130mm between new ceiling and the joists of the bathroom above. This is now 90mm at worst point. Not all "Joiners" are created equally...lol He wasn't on the job long. The replacement joiners have been bang on. Lesson...

Hiya guys. I'm so annoyed right now. Just cut out the holes for the kitchen downlights. Only one is unobstructed. Does anyone know of any 100mm diameter downlights that are 90mm or less deep. Elsewhere in the house we have fitted...

Glow-worm Ultracom 30CXi water temp fluctuating

Just been looking at those instructions. This is where I regret having the boiler in a larder unit. Oh well I've just checked those codes and in a quick 2 mmin check there was a max of 18Deg difference 68-46 Deg between 40 and 41. With a min of 10 deg.
