Neighbour has PP for 2 storey extension, we want to build one too...

Planners in this area sound the same as the post above. I'd get something drafted that sets the design of the extension back a bit but up to the boundary (or as far as possible without incurring overhang etc) and add any evidence of the rest of the street doing similar. Your neighbour may have...

    Loss of pressure

There doesn't seem to be another vessel anywhere. I topped up the water over the Christmas break and for the first time noticed a drip! Having taken off some lagging there's a very dodgy looking joint, clearly this is a leak even if not the leak. The draw off also seems to be slowly dripping so...

    Loss of pressure

Thank you, I'll have a search for that FAQ. I can't see any obvious prv leakage but have attached a few pics of the valve, expansion vessel and tank in case it helps

    Loss of pressure

I have a WB greenstar 30i in a pressured system feeding HW, ch and UFH. A while back the pressure started to drop and WB replaced the aav which seemed to sort it. No floods of water, maybe a small leak. A year or so later the pressure started to drop again, WB duly came out and swapped the aav...

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

Thanks for that. This is the wiring diagram for the EPH, could you let me know which colour wires go where please?

This is the wiring on current stat if that helps

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

Apologies on not replying here, life keeps getting in the way. I'm deciding against the smart type, it's just not needed for the UFH. As I don;t want to cut into a solid wall to have a recessed 'flush fitting' type I'm just looking at the EPH CP4M that @ianmcd suggested as a brand, or the...

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

As I hate not knowing how things work I've done a bit of reading. Would I be correct in that the coordinator is basically a network interface powered by a USB and that you use an app to link the thermostat or whatnot with the coordinator? So two pieces of hardware to buy

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

I found this on the Moes and it seems good but frankly I got lost in the second half when it started on about ZigBee, coordinator, home assistant etc. I'm sure it's simple if you work with these things but it read as confusing to me. What the hell is a coordinator...

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

In this instance I'm only looking at a hard wired programmable type for the UFH. I don't touch it most of the time and heat changes are so slow I don't need it 'smart'. Frankly it should have had a programmable one fitted at the outset but we live and learn with builders!

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

What might be some other recommendations for brands please? Oh, and does it have to be a specific UFH thermostat or will any programmable type be suitable?

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

Ah good, that's a relief. I had visions of rewiring half the system at one point! Many thanks.

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

Ok, that's a top tip! Hadn't realised they were that bad. I'll find an alternative.

Swap dial thermostat with programmable type

I'm planning on swapping my dial type thermostat with a programmable version, likely the Salus SQ610. My set up at the moment is that I have two dial thermostats, one for the rads and one for the UFH in the kitchen which is the one I want to switch out. The two stats go to a controller which...

    Wren Kitchens

I have a diykitchens one and very impressed with it. Our builders were also and have swapped to using them. My only gripe is you can lose many hours trying to perfect your design on the planner!

    Choosing a Laser Level (Ed.)

Thought I'd tack on to this thread instead of asking basically the same thing. I'm looking at a level but not a £400 one. Are Huepar any good or just an inaccurate Chinese toy? They seem to be everywhere you search for a laser level at the moment and I was looking at their 904DG if anyone has...

    Health Secretary

The NHS as a body is unable to enact meaningful change. There are far simpler processes they could implement but for some reason they refuse and they won;t standardise their approach in any one area so every Trust does things differently. They also have a nasty tendency to insist anyone they...
