    Rendering driveway wall.

I'm planning to render the driveway wall down the side of the house. The path down the side of the house next door is concrete and because we're on a hill it is about 18" to 24" higher on the other side of the wall. Before rendering is it a good idea to give the wall a couple of coats of Ka...

    Baxi 105he

I have a leak from the diverter manifold area of my Baxi boiler. I replaced the diaphragm 2 or 3 years ago because it was leaking from the pushrod by the microswitch bracket and all was well. The leak is now coming from behind the differential valve at the front of the diverter manifold...

    Ridge and hip tiles.

I've just had a new roof the tiles being the flat Grampian variety. One thing I'm not sure about is the fatc that the roofer has fixed the ridge and hip tiles using expanding foam. He says he will trim the foam and point the tiles at a later date with cement. Is this normal practice or just a...

Laying a patio of indian sandstone

I'm currently laying a patio 15sq mtrs using Indian sandstone. The patio is enclosed with a retaining wall and i've put the base down using 10mm quarry bottoms and wacked it down. baxi 105he leak

My Baxi 105he, 4 years old has developed a leak which I think is coming from the DHW temperature sensor where it screws into the housing. The installation and servicing manual says to turn off the water supply, remove the sensor wires and unscrew the sensor. I intend to renew the sealing washer...

Use of old immersion heater supply.

Would it be ok to use a 16A supply for the former immersion heater in my airing cupboard (replaced with a combi) for a single oven at 2250W in the kitchen. The airing cupboard in the bathroom backs onto the kitchen. Thanks in advance.

Electrics to separate oven and hob.

I'm replacing a cooker that runs off a switched 40amp supply with a separate single oven and ceramic hob. The oven is rated at 2250w and the hob is 6600w. Would it be ok to wire them via separate cables to the 40amp supply or the hob to the 40amp and the oven to a double 13amp socket which is a...

    Bosch PMF 180E all rounder.

Anyone got one of the Bosch All Rounder tools? I am going to fit some laminate flooring and want to know if it would be powerful enough to take the bottom edge of some skirting boards off so I can slide the laminate underneath? Thanks in anticipation.

    Pipe hammer.

Flushing my loo results in a loud vibration from the pipework which I'm led to believe is called pipe hammer. Its particularly bad first thing in the morning so I suspect its something to do with the pressure. Is there any way of curing this, any help would be appreciated.
