VOIP and powering a router and ONT for 12 hours or more?

Due to my location I endure relatively frequent power cuts which can last for hours, if not days. What is the best way to power my ONT and router in the event of a power failure lasting for at least 6 hours or more? This would primarily be for phone use and mainly to handle incoming calls from...

Bath rail (wall mounted) - is there a particular type to go for or avoid?

Thanks, makes you wonder what the difference is between that one on amazon and the following more expensive one: https://www.croydex.co.uk/product-220.html#:~:text=300mm%20Stainless%20Steel%20Straight%20Grab%20Bars%20with,use%20in%20'wet'%20showering%20areas%20Concealed%20fixings

Bath rail (wall mounted) - is there a particular type to go for or avoid?

Thanks for the advice, I was initially thinking of one like the following screwed to the wall: https://www.amazon.co.uk/supregear-Bathroom-Stainless-Non-Slip-Auxiliary/dp/B092JFFN1P?th=1

Bath rail (wall mounted) - is there a particular type to go for or avoid?

I'm just thinking of a short-ish, 30cm rail to fit to the tiled wall that the bath butts up against. Are there any makes to avoid or go for?

    Toilet cistern - Siphon question

So, I'm referring to the 'well' where you can see the black top of the piston shaft that in this photo can be seen roughly underneath the black lever arm. Should the water be in the 'well' or should it be dry(ish)?

    Toilet cistern - Siphon question

My toilet cistern has a siphon very much like the following (picture below - the only difference is that mine doesn't have that elongated blue 'slider' on the side) but otherwise it's a Derwent MacDee Metro 3-Part Siphon...

Flood lights - can anyone recommend a really good make/model that lasts more than a couple of years?

I don't like chucking things away when a tiny part probably costing less than a penny goes bad. I've repaired LED light bulbs before. Why waste your money and add to landfill when you can repair the item instead, even if it's something as 'basic' as an LED floodlight?

Flood lights - can anyone recommend a really good make/model that lasts more than a couple of years?

    > Why would you need to be able to take an LED fitting apart? To replace a surface mounted LED or, at the very least, remove one that has shorted or blown in a way that's affected other LEDs. Some also start to flicker as they fail and removing just one would be very easy if the LED board can...

Flood lights - can anyone recommend a really good make/model that lasts more than a couple of years?

Thanks for the advice so far. Have been doing some hunting for LED PIR flood lights that are actually repairable and found this Danic: light: https://www.cwberry.com/danic-dnfl430p-30w-4000k-repairable-led-floodlight-with-ip65-pir there's also a non-PIR version on that site. Does anyone have...

Flood lights - can anyone recommend a really good make/model that lasts more than a couple of years?

M latest Osram LEDVANCE floodlight is starting to fail on me (very dim output) but because of the way it's sealed it's impossible to get inside the damn thing. So it's time to buy another flood light. I have two like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FNN5BFC but while that one in...

I'll have a look, thanks. BTW, that's a lovely looking bench - where did you buy it?

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks, I didn't know that. Before I used the Osmo Oil I emailed the manufacturer and mentioned the intended use and they said it would be fine ........ but I guess not.

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

It's too damp, I'd need a flamethrower. :) In fact, the rest of the slats are fine, it's just that one which has a problem (at the moment ......... ).

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks - yes, it's been treated with Osmo Oil (twice over the past five years).

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks, I didn't know that! I'll avoid that wood in the future. Are there any replacement slats that I CAN buy 'off the shelf' which, while not the ones you recommend, would be fairly close?

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

Thanks guys, I'll see if I can find a replacement slat online that's the same wood (apparently it's Swedish Redwood). BTW, this is the bench: https://wooden-garden-furniture.com/shop/garden-furniture/wooden-garden-and-patio-benches/simply-wood-imperial-bench/ Or maybe I'll just go for any...

Soft, rotten area in the slat of a bench - how to fix?

The seat of my five year old wooden bench has developed a soft spot in one of the slats, see photo. I was going to gouge it out and perhaps fill it with something suitable but the area either side of it for two or three inches is also slightly soft. To give some sense of scale to the photo...

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

Thanks a good point about the worktop - thankfully it's in the utility room so it's just some wood (not chipboard) covered with some kind of vinyl.

Tumble dryers (heat pump) - any makes and models to go for? Any to avoid?

They don't for the dryer I was thinking of buying, that's the problem. :) I've looked at generic advice online and it varies a lot - for example some say that maybe an inch either side and 4 or 5 inches at the back is okay, but that you need a foot above the unit ...... on the other hand some...
