    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

Just to let you know that the plumber came back on Monday. Thanks to Breezer, I had wired up the thermostat correctlty. The reason the heating didn't work was because the pump had gone as well!!!

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

I can't tell because the wires go down under the floor and it's hard to work out which is which in the junction box. Thanks for all your help. I'm limited to what I can do now because daylight has gone. I'd best leave it to the plumber tomorrow.

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

Unfotrtunately, I can't tell from the junction box. If yellow could be switched live will I do any harm by connecting it (in a connector block) with the red wire to form a live circuit (as you suggested with red and blue a couple of messages ago)? Could I do any harm by trying other...

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

When the plumber looked at the stat initially he said that the yellow wire was the switch, although it was connected to the neutral terminal in the old stat. Could this make a difference or is he wrong about it being the switch.

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

I've put the red wire to terminal 1 and the blue to terminal 4. I've put the yellow wire in a connector block but it still isn't working. Looking at the diagram, it does have a neutral source going into/coming out from terminals 2 and 3. Would it work if I was to try connecting the yellow...

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

That's what I thought you meant. You've been extremely patient and helpful - Thank you again. One last question, do you have any safety advice on where I can put the one wire when it's in the connector block? The casing of the stat seems far too narrow when screwed up for it to fit in there.

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

Thanks But please bear with me - I'm a total novice on electrics. Further to your drawing, and looking again at the diagram that came with the stat, it looks as though the switch that is on the circuit between terminals 1 and 4 'toggles' between that circuit and the circuit that links...

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

Breezer, Thanks; that's really helpful. Your drawing is spot on except the terminals on my diagram are numbered from left to right as: 4 3 2 1 rather than 1 2 3 4 as on your drawing. I assume that this doesn't make a difference to which...

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

There aren't any written instructions - just a diagram. The diagram shows a 'live' wire going into terminal 1 - this then shows the circuit continuing (inside the diagram of the stat) to a switch and then onto terminal 4. The 'neutral' wire(s) come from/go into either side of a drawing of...

    Installing a ne CH Thermostat

Help please!!!! Typically for this time of year our central heating has decided to pack up. After doing initial checks, a plumber has told me that it is a problem with my thermostat (an old Wylex Non Track 1 Amp 250v). A local plumbers' merchant has sold me a Honeywell T6360 Room Thermostat...
