    Mira Sport Max overheating

I'm not sure why you've all turned against me, seemingly, I've been polite, and very thankful for all your input and suggestions. I've have also not misled any of you, or provided any inaccurate information. I have not said that I've done something I haven't, nor that I haven't done something I...

Didn't have a chance to do this... If it continues to behave, I'll just leave it!

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Mystery deepens... Been using the shower the last few days, was careful with the dial, trying to find the warmest comfortable temperature without it tripping (also only on medium setting)... It never tripped. So this morning, I decided to test it properly, and just chose the high setting, and...

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Ah, I've almost given up and started looking at new showers... I assume I should extract the TCO to test it? And would this test pretty conclusively confirm if TCO is at fault (one way or another)? Yes. Been like that for years and years (at least 7-8), no issues. Yes (one where the water...

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Thank you guys. I see what you're saying. I am definitely someone who doesn't mind doing a repair myself, as long as I'm confident I can do it, and changing the TCO doesn't seem very complicated, so I'm inclined to give it a go, but what I'm trying to ascertain is if you guys think it's...

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Muggles, I think I misunderstood, you mean you're suggesting I change the TCO, not the whole shower unit? Dilalio, if it's something easily fixable, I prefer doing that.

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Normally, I'd take you up on this, I like this sort of messing about, but very little time right now. But thanks again. You mean change the entire shower unit? Does it sound like it's the TCO that's the culprit here? I haven't yet heard (from reading other posts on this subject) that they can...

    Mira Sport Max overheating

You mean completely extract it, and test it in isolation? How can I establish the cut out temperature?

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Hi, neither. I tested for continuity on the TCO still in situ (with all wires connected) with the electricity supply to the shower off, and had continuity (beeping on the multimeter). What about the encrustations on top of the tank, is that normal?

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure what exactly you mean by excessively (if you mean scalding, clearly-wrong-hot, then the answer is no). It just seems to get as hot as it should, on any given dial setting. In other words, the water temperature (as regulated by the dial), seems normal...

    Mira Sport Max overheating

Hi, I've searched on the forum, and found a few threads dealing with this, but still need a bit of assistance. So, the shower started overheating a few weeks ago. It's quite old now, probably 7-8 years, but it's worked fine all this time (except for the whining noise, which was there from the...

Got it, thanks guys. :) I'm looking to see what the best deal on replacing the thing is, as it's old, and just a headache.

Potterton Puma 80 fan replacement query

Thanks for the reply. Isn't it also obvious I'm posting here precisely for that reason, to get further information on something I'm unsure about? If I knew everything (or thought I know everything), there'd be no need to be here asking questions. :) I'd be very grateful if you could elaborate.

Potterton Puma 80 fan replacement query

Hi, The fan on my Puma 80 recently started making a loud whine, so I decided to get it replaced. I bought a brand new "old stock" replacement fan off ebay, but when it arrived, I noticed the fan is slightly different from mine (and different from the pictures it was advertised with - the...

Bosch Logixx slimline DW, about 9 years old, not draining

I still need some advice, if anyone's able to offer some. After I last resolved this, it was fine for a few days, and now back to the same issue again. I'm almost certain there's a blockage somewhere in the drain hose, and it's loose hardened limescale debris that's causing the blockage...

Bosch Logixx slimline DW, about 9 years old, not draining

Managed to resolve this. It was a blockage at the end of the drain hose, right where it joins the main pipe under the sink. Cleaned it all out, and the machine works again now. :)

Bosch Logixx slimline DW, about 9 years old, not draining

Hi, I was hoping to get a bit of advice about this, so that I can try and fix it. Basically, the machine'd been running fine, until a few days ago, after it finished the washing cycle, upon opening it, I discovered it didn't drain the water. There was a lot of water in the bottom. This...
