    Hi, Thanks for the reply. Hammerite have discontinued their shades range, but suggested that a colour can be mixed with eggshell or gloss. If that is the case, then surely I can use smooth?

    stripping paint, cast iron rads

    I'm trying to get my cast iron rads stripped of the paint, but the local stripper can't do it as he can't lift the damn thing out when it's done, and doesn't have a crane. He suggested Nitromors but that will take forever. Another friend said chuck it on a bonfire. Anyone else thrown it...

    The maintenance company say it's my responsibility. What is a TRV and a lockshield? The heating is communal so turning off the other radiators won't make any difference surely... Also I can't turn the water off so can't remove the radiator and it's been there since the 20's so won't just undo :)
