my cistern pipe is leaking from the plastic screw up nut at the base. can i wrap some of that white plumbing tape around the threads and do it up again - would that solve the prob?

My boiler dial is reading 3 bar so overflow pipe has water coming out of it. Is there a fairly easy way to reduce the pressure back to 1.5 myself.

i decided cos the bed had been squeaking for ages to do everything i could that had been suggested whilst i had it to bits - too much hassle to do each suggestion then put it back together and check then dismantle it again if it hadn't worked - may sound a mad way to do it all - but it worked...

i put Bromide in the coffee like u said --- -- Na- really i did everything u said-- took the bed to bits, waxed it, talc-ed it, felted it and wd-40'd a couple of bits, by then i was sweatin madly so put it back together and bounced on it and Guess what .................... NO Squeaks at all...

thanku for that - i will try all those things - i've also seen that rubbing candle wax or soap might help -

Hi - does anyone have a solution to stop my pine bed squeaking? it just seems to be the wood rubbing against itself..

How can i unlock a toilet door from the outside - the turn lock is working but the handle wont move down to release the catch. i've unscrewed the handle but the turn lock device is still holding it on the door.

if a link means a bit more of that earth wire - can i use a bit of the one thats under my sink on the pipe - is it the same type

I am trying to fit a chrome dimmer switch - can you help , I wondered if it was safe to take the earth wire off from the screw in the metal back box and use that to connect onto the screw thats on the rear of the actual dimmer switch that i bought ?
