    New Megaflo Installation Query

Now you mention it, it does sound a bit like that. I've been on a very steep learning curve this last couple of days doing things I shouldn't but I simply cannot afford to pay the pro's. I had a Corgi chap check the gas and check my circuit designs before I plumbed it all in. So, is anyone...

I'm not taking the P. Just asking a couple of questions in the hope of getting some help from those that know.

    New Megaflo Installation Query

Today I commisioned my new Megaflo systemfit cylinder and Vailant Open Vent Boiler (installed with exp. vessel and safety blow off in an unvented style). With the Megaflo came a Danfos TP9 2 channel DHW & DCH controller. I have a couple of questions re. the TP9. 1) Where is the best place...

Is 110v UK same as 110v US??

Thanks Tim. Would you buy a US one bearing in mind the short cutting times???

Is 110v UK same as 110v US??

Thanks for the responses chaps. The tool I'm thinking of buying is a portable makita woodworking compound mitre saw. When in use it's an intermittent cutting process. the motor will probably only run for 10-20 secs max. at a time. The saving is a couple of hundred quid over the UK version...

Is 110v UK same as 110v US??

I have seen a power tool for sale but it is from the US. It is 110v. Will it work as normal on my UK 110v transformer. Does anyone know for definite if the frequency in the US for 110v is the same as the UK? The power tool is cheaper than the UK offering so I'm tempted. Tnx.

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

Thanks for your help Mr Gasguru. Youve helped me make up my mind and I've just ordered a pre-plumbed 210litre Megaflow cylinder. Cant afford it but neither can i afford to be buying all aforementioned bits and fitting them, then having to redo it later and being left with a load of leftover...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

Thanks for all that Mr Gasguru. Very informative. I've got the BES catalogue so I guess i'll need to put in an order for a vessel. OK on all the clock notes, yes i was going to buy a single channel clock for the ufh and use the 28mm spare tapping on the cylinder (which is supplied capped) and...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

Yes, I'm very good at making things complicated, but in my defence I'm taking avdice off a Corgi registered heating engineer. The reason why I'm going for the system fit is because it will be pre-plumbed therefore quicker / simpler to install. I will have my corgi freind check it all out prior...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing. My plumber freind suggested the Vaillant / Megaflow Systemfit combination due to his good experience of the two. Perhaps i should have joined this forum when making the boiler decision. Its too late now - the boiler is on the wall and its wired and the flue...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

I forgot. No the boiler doesnt have a bypass. The Heatrae Sadia website doesnt mention the exp vessel but the hardcopy brochure does!!, so I rang them yesterday and they told me it comes with a 12litre vessel for the dch. Sounds like I'll have to buy one then. More expense. I'm a...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

Chishutt, So I'll have to buy one then. How many litres do you reckon? Is there a formula for working out the size of the exp vessel? The systemfit megaflow looks like a good buy since its pre-plumbed and has all the valves etc on it. I hate shopping!! Why do you ask - have you got any...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

Hello there and thanks for the quick response. Sorry but i didn't explain my sitaution very well. The boiler is an open vent boiler but i will use it in a sealed un-vented situation which is fine as it states in the manual. I must obviously fit an auto by pass and a safety relief valve. I...

Expansion vessels - Do I need one?

I have a vaillant gas condensing open vent boiler which I am plumbing in at present. In the short term I plan on running my underfloor heating off it just to dry the floors out prior to fitting timber floor. Thats all it will do for the next 3-6 months. The water volume in the ufh is approx...

OK, thanks for your help. In the morning I'll see what tomorrow brings. Cheers, Steven.

Boiler enable / room-stat wiring for ufh system

Yes the ufh pump is wired via the wiring centre for the ufh system. So I'll leave the pump connections on the boiler for my rad circuit then. F23 & F24 relate to the pump output - what do you do if you get one of these faults that the pump output is too low and you're warm enough????

Boiler enable / room-stat wiring for ufh system

Forgive me but does that mean that the ufh pump should be wired from the wiring centre AND the boiler pump plug - or should I disconnect the wiring to the pump from the ufh wiring centre? :?

Boiler enable / room-stat wiring for ufh system

The boiler is an open vent type 438 without a pump - sorry I didnt make that clear. So does my logic make sense ref. my rad connections later?

Boiler enable / room-stat wiring for ufh system

OK, thanks. The ufh wiring directions state that it needs 'live from boiler' and 'switched live to boiler enable' so as you say, I will try 3 for the former and 4 for the later. many thanks. Knowledge is a wonderful thing. And another thing! There is a plug for a heating pump on the...
