    The ratchet mechanism will not be released until the terminal is fully crimped. edit: does that make any sense. I've been drinking while watching the footy.

    Seems rather ridiculous to me. Does anyone think that cowboys, on hearing that sockets can now be fitted in bathrooms, will take any notice of zones & IP ratings?

    Looking for a reasonably priced crimping tool that will crimp lugs as well as RYB crimps. Are they available? Any personal recommendations would be welcome, ta very much.

    Depends on the rating of your cooker. Upto 3kW can be plugged into a 13A socket. Anything larger needs it's own dedicated circuit.

    How do you intend terminating armoured cable into a 13A socket? Yes you do have to notify LABC or better still get an electrician.

    I think it's 4mm upto 13.5kW (32A MCB) and 6mm upto 18kW (40A MCB) but i'm prepared to be corrected!
