    More F**king Inconvenience But to be fair I did buy a kitchen of them and it was fine apart from the free laminate flooring I got which was damaged but was quickly sorted out when I went to the shop to tell them.

    New rads still cold

    The guy has done a fine job otherwise ,it's just the one rad in the livingroom that doesn't fully heat up.And unfortunetly I paid him on the day he finished.He did a 10 hour shift to get the job done in 1 day.

    Just had my rads replaced and one of them isnt fully heating up ie the top is hot but the bottom isn't.I've bled the rad so there's not an air lock.Any ideas

    What colour is inhibitor???

    Stupid question I know ,but what colour is it?.The old system was jet black in the header tank and when the guy fitted the new rads he said he had put some new stuff in.I just woundered because the header tank now looks like its just plain water in it.

    Laying 18mm Oak Floor on concrete floor

    I would just lay batons ontop of the tiles and then put your flooring on that.Its what i ended up doing as there was no sign of damp.

    Were to buy 20mm polystyrene boards

    thats exactly what i want ,but cant find it anywhere on the internet.Like i said in a previous the guy at the wood yard sold me 20mm battons ,which is making it a nightmare to find anything to fit it.

    Solid Oak on Concrete flooring

    Another question ,I bought 20mm X 400mm batons for the floor on the advise of the guy at the shop I got the flooring from.I'm now trying to find 20mm polystyrene sheets to put inbetween ,but cant find any so far ,would I get away with 25mm or am I asking for trouble?

    Solid Oak on Concrete flooring

    I decided to go for 1' x 2' batton ,screw to the concrete floor and then secret nail the oak into it.The one question I have is ,I'm getting a fireplace aswell.Do I have to leave an expansion gap around the hearth or would it be better to get the hearth layed on top of the flooring?

    polystyrene sheets

    Does anyone know where I can get hold of some at a decent price for use as insulation between joist on a solid wood floor.They need to be about 25mm thick ,doesn't matter about size as they'll get cut to size. I live near Edinburgh if anyone knows anywhere local.

    Microbore copper piping

    Theres a new rad upstairs in the bathroom that you can feel the heat from about 3ft away ,but if you stand right next to any other rad in the house you feel no heat at all.The bathroom rad is a double and all the other ones are old rubbish single rads.

    I think I'll goto the council and see what they say.They might have a guy thats seen my type of house before and can tell me straight away.Does it take long to get planning permission as its only really needed for the porch which will only be about 3 or 4 sq metres anyway.

    They don't do what they are designed to do ie radiate heat.They're roasting hot to touch ,but they just don't sent out the heat.Crappy single rads from 1980.They're getting replaced asap.

    OK then whats the best place to find one.The Institution of Structural Engineers seems to be for more larger jobs.
