    Bath overflow leak.

Unfortunately the screw in the hole is a bit of a corroded mess and I cant unscrew it. It will not grip in the cross hole. Am I going to have to dismantle this with force and replace the whole thing? Why does water always wreck things apart from gardens. Thanks for your help moggridgeplumbing.

    Bath overflow leak.

Hi there. The overflow on my bath leaks whenever the water reaches it and soaks the ceiling down below. It's a twist bath plug mechanism and I've attached a couple of photos to show. Looking at the overflow it's only plastic. Should there be a rubber seal on it, or some sort of seal, and how...

Hello there. I'm cutting a hole for a french door to be installed and need advice on the floor preparation. As the bricks at floor level are just above the level of the inside floor I'm going to have to take out that level of bricks and replace them with something lower as not to exceed the...

buzzing transformers with low voltage lighting!

I've just had 4 low voltage downlights put in the living room and found that the buzzing emitted from the transformers is a bit too much for me and my good lady. There is no ceiling up at the minute(pulled down as not flat and so decided on downlighters to go in before re boarding) so the...

Plastering over plastic central heating pipes?

Instead of a plastic conduit, what about patch repair mesh nailed across the pipes into the wall and then plaster over the top of that. The pipes are clipped to the wall with pipe clips very well as they did expand a touch when the heating is on but now they don't noticably move at all so would...

Plastering over plastic central heating pipes?

Hi there. I've just had new radiator pipes fitted to hide them in the wall. I had to chase out the wall a bit after the plumber had finished as i didn't think there'd be enough plaster over the pipes to keep them from cracking the new plaster to be applied on top. The pipes are plastic and...

    No lintel above window

Hi again ShyTalkz said wouldn't work if no triangular loading pattern above. There's a bedroom window above and if you look at the picture link I've added I've highlighted a crach going up in a diagonal line( the crack is a brick below the red line if you look closely and only on the right...

    No lintel above window

Hello all, I'm new to the site and this is my first question so please be gentle. I'm decorating my living room and stripped all the disgusting wallpaper away to the plaster(I didn't put the wall paper up in the first place, it was already here) but when I stripped the wall paper from around...
