    Changing ch room thermostat

Just a quick update to finish off. Installed the Salus ST620 today with no problem. Looks even better than the stat I had to send back so really chuffed. Thank you to everyone who took the trouble to help me out on here- much appreciated.

    Changing ch room thermostat

Okay, I've seen this one- a Salus ST620. Looks pretty modern and has a two wire connection. Hopefully this will be a bit more straightforward!

    Changing ch room thermostat

Okay. I tried this and still nothing. I'm starting to get a little out of my depth now we are talking multimeters and checking terminals at the boiler. I think at this stage the best solution for me is to send the thermostat back ( good old Amazon) and get a different one- one that doesn't...

    Changing ch room thermostat

I will give this a go. If it doesn't work then I think I will send it back and get a different one- one that doesn't need the Neutral wire connecting to it. If that's the case I will be back on for suggestions of a replacement that is also a modern looking bit of kit!

    Changing ch room thermostat

Okay. I opened up the switch. The yellow and red join up to two black wires that go to the boiler. The blue connects to the blue that goes to the boiler also. So I need to follow the white cable back to the boiler now and look for a disconnected blue wire....is that correct?

    Changing ch room thermostat

'Heating wiring centre'? I will if I know what that is! I have a combi boiler and there is a switch next to it that turns its power off. Do you mean look in there? Also, seeing as I wired it the way you suggested and it didn't work, do you think I could have a faulty unit? Cheers, Steve.

    Changing ch room thermostat

Okay. So looking at the diagram for this heatmiser thermostat, and looking at my wires in the first post- which goes where? I'm not sure what the yellow one is...it was used for the 'call for heat' in my digistat

    Changing ch room thermostat

Yes- that's the easy option I agree. I just wanted something that looked a little more 'flash' to suit our modern living room!

    Changing ch room thermostat

Sorry for any confusion. I used the digistat to control my central heating ( condenser boiler). I set times for the heating to switch on and off using this. Unfortunately after several years it's started to malfunction so I was looking for a replacement. So you're saying the new unit is not what...

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure I worded it correctly, but it is a boiler programmer with thermostat that I am replacing (see pic)

    Changing ch room thermostat

Hi. I'm wanting to change my central heating room thermostat. It currently has 4 wires coming from the wall of which 2 are unused and taped up ( neutral and Earth). The new thermostat is a Drayton MiTime T710R and I'm not sure how to wire it. I'll add some pics to help. First here is the wiring...

    EV or PRV problem?

Been in the cupboard under my stairs, sat by my boiler with my new PRV all weekend awaiting a response to the question above  Is it common practice to replace the washer when fitting a new PVR? Thanks.

Got my PRV today. Just wondered if I need to fit a new ( fibre?) washer when I replace the PRV? Thanks.

    EV or PRV problem?
