Have you got a tap stat (similar to a thermostatic rad valve) fitted on the pipe coming out of the hot water cylinder. the bathroom rad is probably a bypass for the hot water. The boiler problem sounds like a thermost problem. Is the pump working properly and do the downstairs rads get hot.

it means that you need to turn your upstairs rads back on 1/2 a turn each until they are working and get warm again. kitchen rad should stay on.

Not sure if they have a flow sensor? Sounds like the rubber diaphragm in the diverter valve has perished. Not expensive to replace. have you had the case off? Check if the pin moves freely on diverter valve.

when you bleed it does it heat up then? try and turn off all other rads and see if it heats up. System could need balancing - Tuning all rads to work together. If that don't work you could replace the rad valves. Hope this works.
