The boiler is in a bedroom hence theres no hot tap in the same room. Im going to fit the thermostatic one tonight so will check the hot is on the correct side. Thank you.

Thank you, yes i did the calcs for the size of room and this new radiator is very slightly oversized when compared with the calculation. Do you know whether the 8mm feed will be an issue assuming the runs from the manifolds are not excessive?
