    Kitchen lighting ideas?

If you have wall cupboards above work surfaces, then LED strips under the cupboards at the front, work really well in our kitchen. We've also run LED strips around the wall-ceiling meeting place to replace downlighters, which replaces the fluorescent strips really well.

    Is moss causing problem?

Glyphosate doesn't kill moss I very much doubt that the moss is causing the problem You've got some odd looking flashing there that a professional might be able to suggest a correction to I suspect the damp patch is caused by a combination of lack of ventilation, and poor insulation above the...

What sort of damp is this?

I'm always suggesting that people should do more breathing in the summer, and then have the discipline to not breath during the winter. I can never understand why people don't act on this sensible advice

What sort of damp is this?

As others have suggested, if you dry clothes in the house, don't have a working extractor in the bathroom, and pile things up against walls, then it's likely that you'll have mould. It really is worth addressing these three things first. - if you keep pouring water into the house with wet...

Instant hot/boiling taps for the kitchen

...still loving my hubimex kettle... ...cool enough to lick on the outside (always good if you've a kettle licker in the family), very efficient indeed, low power, choice of temperature, and keeps the water hot for a long time...

My window sill is a rectangle, my window reveal is a trapezoid :-(

If you're confident to cut it, you could do so so that the edges are parallel with the walls either side, then put some white filler either side.

    Flashing for lean to greenhouse

If it was mine I"d replace the wood with a plastic plank, so it doesn't rot, then use stainless or decking screws to fix it. Is water getting into the greenhouse a problem?

What to ask before having solar panels installed

Have a look for relevant threads here: https://www.speakev.com/forums/power/ You have nothing to lose, and potentially a lot to gain, by getting a smart meter. Have a look into Time of Use (TOU) import and export tariffs When you get more specific information about the offer (eg; panel kW...

    Ivy, how bad is it?

There's been a shift in recent decades to take a much more relaxed view of ivy than previously - it'll act as insulation, keeping the wall warmer in the cold, and cooler in the heat, and provide food for birds in the winter. There's some solid info here...
