Your are limited to what you can do.
Lime can repair itself but some cracks just stay.
You can brush in a slurry then paint.
I've also mixed a bit off powdered filler and paint and brushes in cracks.
Toupret masonry filler is very good.
This might be interesting for you to watch.
Problem can be making it look worse filling.
Ive just bought 5 tubes of Metoset. Looks easy enough to apply.
Just thought Id upload some photos. This one shows hairline crack. Its obviously been repaired/sealant used in the past:
These are bigger cracks, thankfully at ground level. Each year I use a flexible external sealant. But it gets the full sun, so the cracks re-open. SO I need a more permanent solution - hopefully Metoset will do the job.
