Do I need to rerender or can this just be patched up?

Hello

This is the first time I have posted on here... I don't know much about rendering! We bought a house in November and have done extensive work to the inside of the house, together with new windows, stabilising chimneys etc.

It is a clay lump with brick extension and has a concrete render on it with a tyrolean finish which is in very shabby condidtion. I have tried to upload photos but I think the file size is too big for the website to allow.

We would like to patch up the exsiting render & paint / refinish the outside of the house to make it look smarter. It's very very grey at the moment & there are hairline cracks in parts of the render. In time, we will probably look to replace all of the concrete render with a lime render but we cannot afford to do it this year and would like to make the house look better in the meantime.

What would you advise, recoat with tyrolean? (How do you go about this?) Exterior pollyfilla holes/cracks & then repaint? I'd be grateful for your advice as house now looking great inside but still awful on the outside!

Many thanks

Anna

Hi Anna,

Email the images to yourself and they will be automatically compressed in doing so, making the file size smaller. You should be able to add them to a folder on this site and upload easily enough then.

If you right click the pictures now and look at their properties, and then do the same after emailing them to yourself, it's a huge size difference.
