door plate

hi, has anyone please got any ideas for a cheap fix for this ? its over 2m long the metal part only goes over the tiles, the carpet is frayed, ive seen z strips on ebay, dont think they would cover the frayed part though. I was wondering about getting a normal slightly curved one, drilling...
