vw passat radio

Hi all, I have a 2007 Volkswagen passat, SDI 2.0 litre. The radio has suddenly stopped working, the facia will light up but won't turn on. The lights will also go off after a while. This isn't something that has developed but has happened suddenly. Any thoughts? Thanks Mark
