wc pan outlet types ho p

Hi all, I'd like to replace some of this soil pipe in order to fit the WC close to the wall. Preferably using rigid pipe sections where possible, as opposed to the flexible connector which looks similar to a tumble dryer vent hose. Could anyone suggest which pipe connectors could be suitable...

Would someone kindly explain the difference in usage between each type (i.e. in what situation would each type be employed)? Thanks.
