Haven't used Dulux Trade emulsion for a while so wanted to know how it compares to other brands. What's Gliddens like as I know it's ICI

You'll be disappointed if you havn't used it for a while. I used gliddens white on ceilings for a few years but switched to Johnstones covaplus. Gliddens contract is good on bare plaster. I'm not sure if the gliddens brand was sold with the Dulux label, the packaging still has the ICI logo. I'm sure my local Brewers manager said something about Gliddens being sold, not sure if its right and if it is not sure who to.

IMO the best emulsion is Little green, its expensive but it seems we have to pay hard for a decent paint these days. Johnstones is my goto 'standard' emulsion but coverage can be a bit on the poor side. For me Dulux is now at the bottom of the list, they have reduced quality to a very standard quality which has not been reflected in the price. Crown may well be worth a go, and Albany (Brewers own brand) isn't a bad budget paint. F&B modern emulsion is very good and very easy to work with but again its pricey.

Yes I did have a look at Albany and thought their colour range to be very good. I was under the impression that Dulux had sorted out their quality issues regarding drying times and Yellowing? Thankyou for your reply

Yellowing and drying times only affects their oil based paints. As for quality issues with their emulsion they have admitted that they've downgraded their emulsion from 'superior' to standard. It shows.
