Hi all,
We will be fitting a 150w cooker hood shortly and the easiest cable run appears to be from the light in the kitchen as this would just entail feeding the 1.5 along between the joists after having removed the light fitting as opposed to pulling floorboards up and final connection via a fan switch, is this acceptable? 4 bed house with all led lighting protected by a 6a mcb with the lighting split between up and downstairs.

Yes, not a problem. The manufacturers instructions will probably call for a 3 Amp fused switch to be fitted anyway, even if on a 6 Amp circuit. This is useful for when you need to isolate it for cleaning or maintenance. It can be mounted discretely above a cupboard or somewhere out of the way if you wish.

Yes they are in the bridging unit and the hood will be attached underneath, used a switched spur fused at 3a as per manufacturer.
