HI all,

ive been asked to move a WC from another room across a small landing into the main bathroom. The original soil pipe would now be about 8ft from the new wc position and i dont think there is sufficient fall any new soil branch pipework to connect the WC back to the original stack.

Ive had a look and there seems to be a 4 inch cast iron pipe outside the window of the proposed new WC location, but i think this for ventilation only as there are no connections to it.

can i connect the new wc to this pipe?

there is also another pipe with a hopper on the top for the bath and basin to discharge into.

thanks for your help

You`ll need to ascertain where the pipe enters the drain - if it`s a vent it might be halfway up a manhole

Thanks for confirming my crude suspicion ill nedd to find if it has a long radius bend entering the sewer, rather than a long drop.
