we have had problems with the 3 amp fuse tripping but only when the heating is on it doesn't do it when the hot water is on.we had a plumber/electrician come and he replaced the valve, thermostat, hot water and heating controls and the box with all the wiring in . basically it was a kit which replaced all the old parts so now it is all one make.but it was working fine but now has started to trip again. Does anybody have an idea What could be wrong.

3 amp fuse blowing perhaps ? Rcds trip, mcbs trip, fuses blow. What boiler, what controls ? Did the engineer tell you what the fault was ?

I'm sure I've read on here somewhere that the pump is the most likely culprit. If you have gravity hot water, then that would make sense, if it only occurs when CH is on.

the engineer did not know what the problem was.that was why he fitted the kit which is a honeywell.the boiler is an myson apollo.we had a new pump about two years ago so dont think that would be the problem.

You'd be surprised!
It would be the first thing I would look at with the problems you are having (if you are on gravity hotwater that is)
damage to the room stat cable while putting up dado rails, decorations etc is not unheard of either

Pump would be my first guess, but then I'd go on and test if it was actually causing the problem before doing anything.

I'd call the guy back that changed the controls and tell him it hasn't fixed it. Swapping parts on a guess is no way to fix anything.

it worked for 7 days without any problems if it was the pump wouldn't it trip sooner.

I cant believe you payed a guy to rewire the heating system who didnt know how to test for electrical problems

turn off power to heating, disconnect pump, get a lenght of flex fit a 3 pin plug with 3 amp fuse and connect to pump, test pump with the use of extension lead if need be,

does it run or blow fuse?

if it runs ok the make original wire safe and turn on heatig.

does it blow fuse?
