70's/80's Hollow Internal Door - Repaint/Spray?

Hi, We've got some old hollow doors that fit really well and I'd hoped to repaint or spray them to make them look modern - they are the wood/varnished effect. flat single panel.

What is the best way to prep and paint/spary and with what?

Sand lightly to key then roller, gloss.
