Not reality at all though, is it? The very worst-suited to such a show, will be the best ones to choose. For ratings. One of the big 2 talent shows used to have open auditions around the country. In the S Wales prelims, a talentless, not-quite-right girls was chosen each year (they phoned her up once, too), so that she could be laughed at and humiliated. She kept self-hacking herself because THEY told her she might make it this year.
