The general practice is:-

zone 1 door contact font door (entry exit route)
zone 2 pir hallway (walk through, guard access, inhibited, entry follower) to give a few terms used.
zone 3 detection device elsewhere (guard, immediate, instant alarm, intruder)

some panels will let you mix and match any zone type to any zone others have fixed values.
But most default values follow the above logic to some degree.
